Zanzibar Daycare Center
Zanzibar Baby Daycare Center is the only day care center in Zanzibar that takes care of babies. Center was started in 2009 by one Zanzibarian teacher Happines Johnson and she is the only owner. In the center there are about 60 children and 6 teachers. Center welcomes children between 6 months and 6 years old.
The children arrive around 7 o’clock in the morning and they stay in the center until 3 in the afternoon. During the day the kids study and play different things. There is a playground in the center. The children get food and they also take a nap in the afternoon.
Volunteers and interns can work in the center together with the local teachers. They can teach English and also different kind of sports and games. The center can receive up to 4 volunteers/ interns at the time.
The center is located near Stone Town center and the volunteer/ interns can go there easily by one 15 minutes daladala ride.
