Testimonials

Moshi Institute Of Technology

Working as a volunteer through TVL was a fantastic and rewarding experience. The placements for me at MIT was a perfect fit and the staff and TVL are extremely nice and supportive. The accommodations are very comfortable and it was great meeting other volunteers! The food is excellent and the hostel is very peaceful and safe.

TVL

Someone asked me what I like most in Tanzania and you know what? It's really hard to say. People here are very nice and welcoming. Even though I am a Mzungu (white person) and recognized as a stranger everywhere I felt somehow being at home after few months. And what else? I love the music and that people sing and dance so much more often that we do in Europe. I loved the landscapes that we saw on our safari and of course the animals. I recommend to everyone who loves exploring the culture to come here with TVL. Enjoy very good service, work and live here, meet awaiting new friends, and find out new things about yourself while being here.

Majengo hospital

The practical training in Majengo was awesome! Other nurses and doctors were really nice and helpful. I could do a lot of things there in labor ward, dental unit, vaccination room, wound treatment, family planning and antenatal ward. Four weeks in there went so fast but I also learned a lot!

On the weekends in Moshi we made trips to many different places e.g. masai village, safari, Materuni waterfalls and coffee plantation tour. The tours were great and the prices were good when there was a bigger group going there to participate. While I was staying in the TVL house there was many other students who also liked to go for trips so it wasn’t hard to find company even though I didn’t know anyone before coming to Tanzania.

In Moshi and in TVL house there are a lot of activities and things to do and I didn’t need to think too much what to do next. I will definitely come back again! I really lost my heart to Africa!
