"When I visited Upendo in 2008 and after returning home I decided that I wanted to help the children, give them some love and attention. I then found Tanzania Volunteers who helped me to arrange my placement for 2010. My days at Upendo were sometimes challenging; dealing with the different ways of raising children, but I continued to give my love and attention and got a lot from the children. I helped them learn to count, to share, to sing and to give love and affection back and to each other. It was bonus to come home to such a friendly, welcoming home after a hard day. Hanna, Louis and the other volunteers were always there to help talk about my day if I needed to and vice versa.
I will be returning to Tanzania to do more voluntary work and I will have no hesitation coming back to Tanzania Volunteers. Thank you to everyone who made me feel so welcome."
