Hai Vocational Training Center is run by German couple, the Kammleiters. The school is famous for its carpentry department where they manufacture different kind of furniture and small wooden items and also church organs and classical guitars.
In the school there are also other study lines e.g. tailoring.
The school is offering internship placements for carpenter students and students of guitar or organ making. At the school the interns will manufacture different furniture, wooden items, instruments or other wooden products for customers according to their orders. The machinery in the carpentry workshop are from Germany where the head teacher of carpentry Reinar Kammleiter has brought them from.
The school is located in Boma N’gombe which is a small village about half an hour drive from Moshi. With the bus the distance is much longer. Because of the long distance the interns have a possibility to stay in the schools guesthouse during the weekdays and come to Moshi to TVL volunteer house for weekends.
