MOSHI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (MIT)
Moshi Institute of Technology was established in 2000 as a branch for JR Institute of information technology (Arusha as the Headquarter). 2005 it changed the name (as Moshi Institute Of Technology) and also the ownership changed. Now Moshi Institute of Technology is private registered institute. The institute is recognized and registered by VETA (vocational and educational authority) and also on the final process of being registered by NACTE (National Council for Technical educational).
The aim of MIT is to provide professional and affordable IT training in Moshi area. MIT is also focusing in reducing poverty and creating work and self-employment opportunities by offering affordable computer teaching in rural areas. The other mission for MIT is to make ICT education affordable specially to youth.
MIT is offering and conducting different courses, training and seminars. The courses and training include computer courses (include computer technician, repairs, English language, Entrepreneurship, accounting software training, Secondary school education for 2 years). The level of the courses varies from beginners to diploma levels. MIT is also offering E-citizen course which is a basic internet course from European Computer Driving Lisence (ECDL) Foundation. Apart from training and short courses the institute offers various services such as, computer repair and maintenance, website designing and hosting, software and system development, system analysis and design, networking configuration, on site training, computer educational materials, hardware and software sales.
MIT teaches and uses eg following programs and systems: Adobe Photoshop, Publisher/ Sierra, PageMaker, Dream Weaver, Pascal Program, Autocad, HTML, PHP, Coral draw, Linux/ Oracle, Frontpage, SQL server, E-Commerce, Quickbooks, Tally, Myob, Pastel, Sage and many others.
MIT offers different kind of internship opportunities. According to your education and interest you can take part in teaching different computer skills or English language, you can work in repairing and maintenance or in website designing and hosting.
