APPLYING FOR INTERNSHIP

1)

  • Visit our websites and explore the internship placement introductions. Choose appropriate internship placement for yourself and fill out the application form. If you can’t find suitable placement please write the description to the form.
  • You should contact us for the first time about 3 months before coming to Tanzania.
  • Send us your CV and Letter of Motivation, both in English. Tell in short about yourself, about your studies, about your previous work experience on that field and also if you have done some previous internships at the field. In the Letter of Motivation you should also mention the dates and the length of the internship period.

  • If you have chosen an internship placement from the list we will confirm from the placement that they have a possibility for you to intern.
  • If you have sent a description of new placement we will find that for you
  • You need to send us contact information for the teacher who takes care of international internships in your school. We will contact him/ her about the contract.

3)

  • We will make an internship contract with the placement of your choice and send it to you to be signed by you and your school.
  • At latest at this point you need to book your flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport send us your flight details.
  • Book your flight in such way that you will arrive to Tanzania between Monday and Wednesday at least 3 days before the beginning of your internship period for the orientation and language course.

    • When you book your flights remember that any longer trips are not allowed during your internship period.
    • Reserve some extra time in Tanzania after your internship period if you are planning to do some longer trips e.g. to Zanzibar or Mount Kilimanjaro

  • We will send you the invoice and instructions for applying the Residence Permit

If your internship lasts less than 2 months you will follow these instructions:

  • You will enter the country with Tourist Visa which you can purchase from Kilimanjaro International Airport as you arrive. The price is USD 50 (from USA and from Ireland USD 100). You need to have the exact change ready with you in cash.
  • For the Tourist Visa application you need to fill the following information:

    • your address in Tanzania: TVL Hostel, Shanty Town Road, House # 147B, Moshi, Tanzania
    • phone number: Louis Bonzon +255 753 335 899
    • purpose of the visit: holiday
  • As soon as you have arrived we will apply the Visitor’s Pass for you. For that you need to bring the following documents with you, all in English:

    • 3 copies of the signed internship contract
    • 2 copies of your passport
    • 2 copies of the latest study transcription from your school
    • 2 copies of your CV
    • 6 color photos, passport size
  • The Visitor’s Pass for 2 months costs USD 200

If your internship lasts more than 2 months you will follow these instructions:

  • We will apply a Residence Permit Class C for you before you enter the country. It costs USD 550 and the price is added to your invoice.
  • For the Residence Permit Class C application you need to send us via email the following documents, all in English

    • Filled and signed Residence Permit application form (you will get the form and instruction by email with your contract and invoice)
    • Copy of the signed internship contract
    • Copy of your passport
    • Latest study transcription form your school
    • Copy of your CV
    • color passport photo in JPEG- format
  • When we have received all these documents and you have paid the invoice we will apply the Residence Permit for you and send it to you via email before you travel. You need to print out the permit and take it with you. You need to show the Residence Permit at Kilimanjaro Airport in passport checking.

5)

  • Make sure that your passport is valid 6 months after you trip.
  • Get all the vaccinations needed
    • A and B hepatitis
    • Yellow fever (you need to show the vaccination certification at the airport)
    • MMR- vaccination
    • Tetanus
    • Cholera
    • Typhoid fever (optional)
  • Get adequate insurance for yourself and your luggage
  • Get malaria prophylaxis
